• Axis Tree
o Our trees are made with a South Dakota Pine with a Fiberglass cover
This helps preserve and protect the tree over the life of the saddle
Fiberglass adds strength to the tree and minimizes the bulk
o Tree has a QH bar- 23” in length and 100 degrees to the bar
Gullet- 6 ½ “
Cantle- 3 ¾ “ high
Pommel- 14” wide
o Horn height is 2 ¼ “, standard roping horn
o The bar tips of the tree are flared out
This accommodates the movement of the horses shoulders and loin
o The bars are beveled from the center
Helps prevent dry spots and gives the tree a balanced fit for the horse and the rider
• Seat
o Brown bomber leather, medium oil leather
o 3/8” padded seat, sizes range from 13”-17” in saddle with a horn, and sizes 13”-16” in saddles without a
horn.
o Our Aussie saddle tends to run about one size larger than a traditional western saddle
For example, if you currently ride in a size 16” saddle, you would ride in a size 15” in our saddle
o To measure your current saddle:
Measure the seat from the inside of the swell to the front of the seat back or cantle
• Color
o Walnut color
o Available in rough out leather in saddles with a horn
• Sheepskin Wool
o The sheepskin wool on the bottom of the saddle help shock absorbency
• Stirrups
o Depth- 4 ½ “
o Width- 5”(inside), 6” (outside)
o Free swinging
o Close contact Hamley twist
This means that the stirrups are pre-turned for the rider
Provides the rider pressure relief on the knees and lower back
Saddle comes ready to ride out of the box
• Custom Design
o 6 conchos
o 6 sets of string
These can be used to tie up saddle bags if desired
o Barb wire runner design
• Weight
o 27-30 lbs.
o Rounded skirt helps keep the weight down
