Great Franklin "Oregon" model saddle for sale.
This saddle is an early 1970s model from the Franklin saddle shop in Oregon. Bub Warren had taken over Franklin saddle at the time.
Franklin rigs were prized by generations of buckaroos for their fit, craftsmanship and durability.
I purchased the saddle in 2006. It has the initials RJC tooled onto the back of the cantle for the original owner. I have a Montana silver plate that can be engraved and added to saddle to cover initials. This comes with the saddle.
The saddle is in excellent shape for it’s age and is somewhat of a collector saddle as well as being perfectly sound to ride and rope.
When I purchased the saddle the seller sent along one of Franklin’s old catalogs showing this saddle.
See photos-
I will send this catalog to buyer.
This saddle has a very comfortable seat and fits a wide variety of horses.
It has a 15 inch seat. The saddle did not come with the orginal stirrups. I have added Nettles 3 1/2 inch monel stirrups.
Fleece has one bare spot at back of skirt behind cantle at seam. Does not affect saddle. Original fleece.
Thank you.
